The circular this week is one for the books. I never thought the Society would have the balls to post Quincy’s photograph. That blows the doors off of the Wainwright Rediscovery. There’s no going back now, and I, for one, am glad to see it. It’s a … well, it’s a tense atmosphere around here this week and anyone with eyes can tell the old guard is very uncomfortable with the Sunset Provision and finally opening the curtains on their holdings.
Because if that wasn’t enough, there’s been a bit of a kerfuffle over a lot of specimens that were deemed out of scope for the Society and were pushed off onto Taboo and Co. Boy howdy did they open up a surprise. And I can’t help but laugh that the Society for Improbable Discoveries passed on literally the most improbable discovery of our lifetime because of a technicality.
I’m pretty sure Taboo and Co. is scrambling to divest themselves of this acquisition ASAP. Rumor says Vegas in September. If they’re smart, they’ll unload that hot potato before the suits sniff it out.
